Fundraiser Dinner: A Great Success

Malony Shrivastava Memorial Foundation’s first ever Fundraiser Dinner in support of Cancer research was organized at Fraser Banquet Hall on November 23rd 2007. Over 500 people from different walks of life attended the Fundraiser dinner. The fundraiser was a mix of talent showcase from Pac-West, traditional Garba dance by Vancouver Saheliya, similar other cultural programs followed by a fashion show featuring the best from Raj Collection and Crystique. The colorful evening was entwined with motivational speeches from selected Speakers of B.C. Cancer Agency and Canadian Cancer Society and few volunteers made presentations on various topics related to cancer prevention and research. Towards the end the foundation announced that the proceeds of the fundraiser evening would be donated to BC Cancer Agency, Canadian Cancer Society.

As a follow-up of the fundraiser we had a meeting with the representative of the Canadian Cancer Society Ms. Pam Aikman, Executive Vice-President, Operations to explore the future programs and possibilities of collaborations with them. The Foundation also presented a cheque of $1568 Cdn fulfilling its commitment made earlier.

Program Brochure

“Life is not over…

it’s just altered.”

Malony Shrivastava lived her life with enthusiasm and energy.  Battling breast cancer for over six years, Malony showed us that with a positive attitude and optimism, even the most challenging of obstacles needn’t slow our enjoyment of life! The Malony Shrivastava Memorial Foundation was created to bring this message to all who can benefit from it.

Our main objective is to convey a message of hope to those affected by cancer. We want to connect with as many people as possible and encourage them to join in our efforts.

By attending this event you are impacting the lives of those facing this illness. The proceeds of this dinner will fund volunteer-driven programs in the Lower Mainland (we will be working hand in hand with the BC Cancer Agency to develop these), as well as provide needed resources to run new and promising research initiatives in India and Canada.

Any time you can donate valuable. We look forward to seeing you at this fundraiser dinner and hope our efforts will change the way cancer is approached and handled.

This event will be held on
